Christian Craighead

Christian Craighead is a modern British hero who single-handedly saved hundreds of lives during a major terrorist attack in Kenya. In January 2019, off-duty SAS soldier Christian Craighead single-handedly stormed a hotel complex in Nairobi, Kenya, during a deadly coordinated terrorist attack by al-Shabaab militants. Hearing the gunfire and explosions, he grabbed his tactical gear from his car and breached the compound alone in casual civilian clothes and a balaclava. For hours, Craighead systematically cleared rooms, organized local security forces, dragged terrified civilians to safety, and personally neutralized the terrorists. His extreme bravery saved hundreds of lives and earned him the Conspicuous Gallantry Cross (CGC), cementing his iconic image as a modern British military hero.
