Freezing water rescue

In the middle of winter, she heard screams coming from the freezing sea at Holywell Bay. A 10-year-old boy and his stepdad had been dragged out 400 meters by a terrifying rip current. Knowing they didn't have minutes to spare, Emily stripped down and dove into the icy winter surf, and swam out to save them. Fighting against the freezing tide, she kept them calm, held them to a bodyboard, and single-handedly towed them back to safety. Because of her, a mother got her boy back, and a family stayed whole.
