"The real-life story of Stan Beaton, a 68-year-old widower from England: For over a decade, Stan called his home phone every single day just to hear his wife's voice on the answering machine greeting. He routinely refused to change phone providers because previous companies could not guarantee the voicemail message would be saved. In January 2015, a technical upgrade and system work by his provider, Virgin Media, accidentally erased the saved audio file, leaving Stan lost and heartbroken. Desperate, Stan contacted customer support to see if the message could be brought back. Deeply moved by his story, a dedicated team of 11 engineers spent three full days searching through old system backups and a hidden server archive. Amazingly, the technical team successfully located and restored the audio file, surprising Stan and allowing him to hear his wife's voice once again."
