Dominican Monks

The Dominican Order, officially the Order of Preachers (O.P.), is a Christian religious order founded in 1215 by the Spanish priest St. Dominic. Known as "Black Friars" for their black capes over white habits, they focus on preaching, education, and defending Church teachings. As such, they are more active in society than most other monastic orders, however, they still maintain vows of chastity and poverty.
