True story of Hacksaw Ridge

A Christian man joined the military to save lives and refused to carry a weapon, choosing only his Bible. However, he exhibited superhuman bravery due to his faith, carrying 75 wounded soldiers to safety during WW2 while under heavy fire.

After being injured, he even rolled off his stretcher to help a wounded soldier, after he had already kicked away a live grenade to save his friends.

"He was one of the bravest men alive, and to have him save my life was the irony of the whole thing" said one of his critics.
