Carl James Joseph

At age 30 he made a radical decision: he quit his job, renounced his financial assets, gave away all of his possessions, and dedicated his life to following the teaching & example of Jesus.

With only a robe and a bible, he began a barefoot journey that took him across 47 states and 13 countries over a 20 year period.

Operating completely without money, he relied entirely on the generosity of strangers - while crowds would often gather to hear him talk about the life of Jesus and his personal journey.

Now 67, Joseph lives a quiet life of prayer in Jerusalem, permanently residing at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, where he continues his decades-long vow of ascetic devotion.
