Carl James Joseph
At age 30, Joseph made a life-altering decision: he resigned from his corporate office job, renounced his financial assets, and gave away all of his possessions to emulate the lifestyle of Jesus Christ.
With only a robe and a bible, he began a barefoot pilgrimage that took him across 47 U.S. states and 13 countries. Operating completely without money, he relied entirely on the hospitality of strangers for food and shelter - while large crowds would often gather and follow to hear him teach about the life of Jesus.
Today, Joseph lives a quiet life of prayer in Jerusalem, permanently residing at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, where he continues his decades-long vow of ascetic devotion.
