Top volunteer in San Diego

For nine years she kept showing up when people needed help most. As a Red Cross volunteer in San Diego County, she gave more than 8,000 hours of her life to assisting people affected by emergencies. She did not do it for fame or money. She simply believed that when someone is hurting, another person should be there. Her years of quiet service earned her the Presidential Volunteer Service Award’s Lifetime Achievement Award—but the people she helped are the real measure of her legacy.
