Fought a wolf to save a family

He was camping with his wife at Banff National Park in Canada. Around 1:00 AM, a wolf attacked a nearby tent occupied by a family of four (Matt Rispoli, his wife Elisa, and their two young sons, visiting from USA).

The Attack: The wolf tore open the side of the family’s tent and attacked Matt Rispoli while he slept, biting into his arm and trying to drag him out. Rispoli threw himself over his wife and children to shield them while fighting off the animal. ​The Intervention: Hearing desperate screams for help from the adjacent campsite, Fee immediately ran over without hesitation or weaponry. Seeing the wolf partially inside the tent trying to pull Rispoli out, Fee ran up and kicked the wolf directly in the flank as hard as he could. The Rescue: The kick startled the wolf, forcing it to drop Rispoli. The animal stepped out of the tent and turned its attention to Fee. Fee and Rispoli began making as much noise as possible, throwing rocks and branches to keep the predator at bay while getting the entire Rispoli family into Fee’s truck for safety.
