At age 18 in Knaphill (Surrey, UK), he spotted a man floating face‑down and unconscious in a local canal. Without hesitation, he pulled the man onto the bank and performed CPR for about 10 minutes until emergency services arrived. The man’s pulse returned around 20 minutes later and he made a full recovery. Daniel was given the Courage Award & Community Heroes Awards.
