Self Sacrifice for Animal Rescue

Universally known as the outback's "Kangaroo Dundee," Chris Barns has dedicated his life to rescuing orphaned, injured, and ill kangaroos in central Australia. He famously quit his job, spent his own savings, and founded The Kangaroo Sanctuary in Alice Springs. He acts as a surrogate mother to dozens of orphaned joeys whose mothers have been struck by cars, rehabilitating and successfully releasing roughly 100 wild kangaroos back into the bush every year.
