"Johnny Appleseed" (USA)

John Chapman (1774-1885) created an American legend. At age 18 he began walking barefoot across America - planting apple trees and teaching Christianity for 60 years - with only his Bible in his bag and his cooking pot on his head. His goal was to provide food for strangers while setting an example for the future.
