1. Who We Are
IUM's World is operated by International University of Morality, Inc., a U.S. nonprofit organization. References to “IUM,” “we,” “us,” or “our” mean International University of Morality, Inc.
Our mailing address is 1317 Edgewater Dr #5418, Orlando, FL 32804 USA. You may contact us through our Contact page or at mail@ium.world.
2. Information We Collect
Account and profile information. When you register, we may collect your email address, sign-in provider, display or pen name, profile photograph, biography, language preference, country, and account notification settings. A real full name is collected only when you request a certificate and is used for review, certificate production, and the Hall of Honor if approved.
Content and participation. We collect posts, nominations, titles, stories, photographs, videos, links, nominee names, locations you choose to provide, comments, likes, votes, shares, reports, and related timestamps. Public posts and public profile information can be seen by anyone.
Prestige, honors, and donations. We maintain participation totals, Prestige Points, qualification dates, certificate requests and review status, certificate numbers and issuance details, Hall of Honor entries, and donation-related records. Payment processors handle payment-card information; IUM does not receive complete card details.
Technical information. We may receive browser and device information, IP-derived approximate country, referring pages, requested pages, timestamps, app errors, cookie choices, and engagement information such as post views. We do not publish your IP address.
Communications. We collect information you submit through contact forms, copyright notices, privacy requests, and communications with IUM.
3. How We Use Information
We use information to operate and secure IUM's World; create and manage accounts; publish and translate user content; calculate participation and Prestige Points; process nominations, votes, reports, donations, honor qualifications, and certificate requests; send requested or service-related emails; prevent fraud, spam, manipulation, and misuse; enforce our Terms; respond to enquiries and legal requests; measure and improve the service; and maintain the integrity of the IUM community.
4. Public Content and Visibility
Posts, nominations, images, names supplied for nominees, public locations, comments, profile names, profile photographs, biographies, country information, participation totals, and approved Hall of Honor entries may be publicly accessible and may appear in search results or when content is shared. Please do not submit private information you do not want made public.
5. Nominee Information in Good People Nominations
Good People nominations may include another individual's name, photograph, biography, story, location, achievements, and links to supporting sources. By submitting a nomination, you represent that you have an appropriate basis to provide that information and, where required, the nominee's permission. Public nominations and related information may be visible to anyone.
Nominees and other affected individuals may contact IUM to request review, correction, or removal of their information. Requests should include the post URL, identify the information at issue, explain the relationship to it, and provide any context needed for review. IUM will review requests in light of the public and community interest, applicable law, our Terms, and this Privacy Policy.
6. Cookies, Local Storage, and Similar Technologies
IUM's World uses browser storage and similar technologies for essential functions such as sign-in sessions, security, language selection, saved drafts, interface preferences, and remembering your cookie choice. We also use optional measurement technologies where permitted.
In regions where consent is required, the cookie banner offers Accept and Reject choices for analytics and advertising measurement. Your choice is stored in your browser and can be changed at any time through “Cookie Settings” in the site footer. Essential technologies needed to provide and secure the service may still operate.
7. Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand visits, content discovery, participation, and return usage. Depending on your consent and location, Google Analytics may receive information such as viewed pages, interaction events, general device and browser information, approximate location, and campaign or referral information. IUM does not intentionally send your account user ID, full name, or email address to Google Analytics.
You can reject or withdraw analytics consent through Cookie Settings. You may also use browser controls or Google's available opt-out tools.
8. Advertising
IUM's World may introduce advertising services in the future, including Google AdSense. If advertising is added, advertising providers may use cookies or similar technologies to deliver, limit, measure, and, where permitted by your consent, personalize advertisements. We will provide any additional consent choices required before enabling personalized advertising in applicable regions.
Google and its partners may process data under their own privacy policies. This policy does not mean advertising is currently active.
9. How We Share Information
We may share information with service providers that support hosting, authentication, storage, email delivery, analytics, maps, translation, content processing, security, payment processing, and other operational needs. They may process information only for the services they provide and under their own legal obligations.
We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights and safety, investigate fraud or misuse, enforce our Terms, or respond to valid legal process. If IUM undergoes a reorganization or transfer, information may be transferred subject to appropriate protections. We do not sell personal information for money.
10. Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, preserve community and award records, meet legal and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and enforce agreements. Public posts, moderation records, honor qualifications, approved certificates, and Hall of Honor records may be retained as part of IUM's historical record. Retention periods vary by the type and purpose of the information.
11. Security and International Processing
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards. No online service can guarantee absolute security. IUM operates from the United States and uses providers in multiple countries, so information may be processed outside your country under laws that differ from those where you live.
12. Your Choices and Rights
You may update available profile details and communication preferences in your account, change cookie choices through Cookie Settings, and ask us to access, correct, or delete eligible personal information. Some records may be retained where required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, moderation, certificate, or historical purposes.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to object, restrict processing, receive a portable copy, withdraw consent, or complain to a data-protection authority. Contact mail@ium.world to make a request. We may need to verify your identity.
13. Children's Privacy
IUM's World is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Users must also meet any higher minimum age required in their country or have permission from a parent or legal guardian. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information improperly.
14. Third-Party Links and Services
Posts may contain links or media from third parties. IUM is not responsible for the privacy practices, content, or security of third-party websites and services. Review their policies before providing information.
15. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the service, law, or our practices change. We will post the revised policy here and update the date above. Material changes may also be communicated through the service or by email where appropriate.
